Come for the action, Stay for the Ambrose, September 11, 2015

The writing is not great. Go into expecting cheesy action and you will be very happy. Despite the writing Dean Ambrose gives a good showing. He’s a better than John Cena was in the first 12 Rounds which considering John Cena was truly truly terrible in that I guess it wasn’t saying much. Anyway Dean Ambrose is good in the action sequences (which lets be honest is why you were watching it in the first place) and suprisingly good in the quiet little moments which is where I would expect a newbie actor to get lost. I hope that the bigwigs at WWE studios don’t hold the terrible writing against him and we get to see him on film again.

What’s not to love. Dean Ambrose, good action, Dean Ambrose, pretty good plot…and have I mentioned Dean Ambrose. Really enjoyed watching this movie several times. Would definitely watch this again and again.

Came for Dean, stayed for a fun, cheesy action thriller. The plot is straightforward and easy to follow, Dean’s character was fun and well done. I haven’t seen any of the other movies (I didn’t even know there were others until I finished this one), so I’m not sure if there is a coherent storyline through the trilogy, but if that’s the case this doesn’t need any backstory explanation to be enjoyable. I’m also constantly impressed by the production quality for WWE movies, it is well shot and the effects are excellent.
