The welcome presence of Ben Gazzara (in his final starring role) cannot save this meandering, underwritten comedy-drama. “Looking for Palladin” (2009) goes nowhere slowly – though the offbeat cast and Guatemalan locations provide some interest. A disappointment from Polish filmmaker Andrzej Krakowski.

This movie depicts Antigua, Guatemala as it actually is. Having visited there many times I could connect. The scenes of Volcano Agua, the chicken buses and the streets. I recently visited the Café Viejo where much of the movie was shot. The coffee is the best in Antigua.

It was a wonderful movie. My husband was born in Guatemala (raised in Houston) and he just loves this movie and seeing the city.
