I’m pretty sure they are considered pop because it was popular in Europe, not pop by American standards at that time, though I am only speaking through bits and pieces of things i have heard. particularly a song by Dan Le Sac “Thou Shalt Always Kill” which came up on the low end of British charts. Calling out trends of British pop culture. Saying Radiohead as “just a band,” and (was) “the next big thing”. Along with some other pretty decent artists. To which i find his philosophy flawed.

in reference to the radiohead being pop music they can’t be because not many people have actually heard of them go into a high school and no one has any idea who thom yorke is im like literally the only one

i agree completely – Radiohead is by far the best band that ever have existed and it really is by far coz nobody seems to manage something that out of the ordinary ALL THE TIME

pop as a genre classification does mean popular, im not making it up. Its not my fault people have tarnished the word by relating it to boy and girl groups
But i guess my biggest point is that, many people find Radiohead to be this unhumanly experimental band. when there is much more different shit out there…the only reason they have heard of radiohead is because they are pop.

Right so what we have here is a problem over the use of the word ‘Pop’ as a genre classification (refering to shit bands e.g. pussy whore dolls, Britney etc) as opposed to an ammount of people who like one thing making it popular… Radiohead are a popular band but they sure arnt pop… hope that clears that shit up.
