Based on the title of this movie, I think it’s fair to assume that it’s supposed to be about one of the most elite special operations units on Earth. It’s impossible to tell this, however, from actually watching the movie. The team movement, shooting, communications, and constant yelling during firefights (don’t even get me started on the macho bickering between teammates) were all hopelessly unrealistic. These guys didn’t even look like JROTC cadets, let alone SEALs. There’s a reason successful directors hire military consultants when making military movies.

The audio was so poor that I had to plug in headphones on my MacBook Pro just to be able to understand any dialogue. Also, many scenes have radio chatter in the background, which may have been inserted to help viewers understand what in the hell is supposed to be going on, but the chatter is often unintelligible.

A HUGE portion of this film is just edited together “B-roll” from various military recordings of aircraft carrier flight decks and what is obviously military stock footage of aircraft in flight. This stock footage provides a nice break from the garbage that is the rest of this movie.

I truly wish I could give this negative stars, but that does not appear to be an option (yet). If you’re looking for a film in which the SEAL characters wear both t-shirts AND hats labeled “Navy SEALs,” you’re going to love this. If you’re looking for a film in which an Army Ranger is brought on board as a member of a NAVY SEAL team (and actually awarded the SEAL Trident after running a few laps around an aircraft carrier deck and doing some push-ups), then this film is for you. If, however, (unlike anyone involved with the production of this movie) you happen to be a SEAL enthusiast, or have ever read anything about the SEAL Teams, this movie is just going to piss you off. I’d love to include many more details about how terrible this thing was, but I think you get the idea. On the upside, I do find the cover art to be attractive.

Not even a b movie…more like an f minus…not worth the time I spent on the download or the time lost.
