Is it stupid to get a tattoo of my name on the back of my neck?
Question by Summer 2010 ?: Is it stupid to get a tattoo of my name on the back of my neck?
I really want to get a tattoo on the back of my neck , and I don’t want it to be something stupid and not meaningful like stars or a flower or a heart . What if I got my name ? Would that be dumb ? Please tell me what you think . If not my name then what ? ( I would never get anyone else’s name ) Thanks (:
* I would get it in black cursive just my first name .

I hate when people get there own names on themselves, its like did you forget it or something?
I can understand maybe your last name or something else meaningful.
A tattoo isnt something you should wake up one say and just go and do it, it should be planned out, because you don’t want to regret it.
what about your country of origins flag
Thats kinda concited maybe;;
you name is just not something to put on your body.
maybe like your zodiac sign or a symbol that means
something to you in your life? if you get what im saying;
im not being rude or anything
some people think name on neck is so your lover wont forget
why in the world would u want to do that?
lol in case you forget your name… I guess you could ask the person standing behind you:)
Naw, I know lots of girls with their own name and it’s not stupid at all. How is your own name any more or less stupid then your kid’s name or any other tat for that matter? I’d get my name on me for sure, except I hate it!
Yes it is very stupid. Why would you get your name tattooed on you? Is it in case you forget your name or what. It also seems like your way to into yourself if you get your own name tattooed on you.
If you’re going to get a name on the back of your neck, I would suggest getting your last name. I personally would never get anything written on my neck because there is limited space.
Yeah this girl I used to work with, Deanna…..had “Deanna” tattooed on her wrist……….needless to say she was a dumb b*tch.
If you want some writing on you, that’s cool, look up: bible verses, lyrics, famous quotes, ect…….that mean something to you. do not get your name…..and DO NOT get someone else’s name.
What is “stupid” is truly a matter of opinion. To some people, things such as stars, flowers, and hearts are very meaningful. However, in my honest opinion, such a tattoo might give off the impression that you are so into yourself, that nothing else in life is worthy of a such permanence in your life… either that, or you forget your name easily (where writing it on your underwear just doesn’t cut it anymore). So, take your pick of first impressions: Self-Absorbed, Imbecilic, or both.
Take something that is truly meaningful to you. An icon of a much-loved hobby (ie music [a CD? radio? notes?], cars [logos, image], games [pool cues, game icon, character, pieces], etc), favorite animal (feline, [cat, lion, panther, tiger], canine [dog, wolf, coyote], fantasy creature [griffon, dragon, phoenix], fish [koi, trout]), a scene or symbol that is reflective of your life (a cartoon potato on a couch, kanji for ‘strength’, icon of heritage [national flag or symbol like an eagle, cultural symbol like a shamrock, religious symbol like a cross])… or, if you’re insistent upon a name, opt for your last name, showing pride and respect for your family, instead of self-worth and haughtiness from your first.
