Klaus Kinski TV-Interview (1985) with English Subtitles
Klaus Kinski interviewed by Thomas Gottschalk, a very stupid german showmaster. the show was called “Na Sowas” and was very popular in germany at that time. Kinski made PR for the movie “Commando Leopard”. he’s friendly, but not really helpful… with english subtitles and a short clip from the shooting of “Commando Leopard” at the beginning.

Actually, this is a controlled Kinski. He even points out that he can’t get mad at the interviewer. It is surprising that instead of going bezerk, Kinski would point out that he did not understand the question. Actually the first “question” is not even a question,it’s just a statement; Kinski answered correctly, “I dont get it”, neither did I. Very funny stuff, though, and herr Kinski was having fun, i believe.
gottschalk didn’t recognize that he’d be fooled.. kinski 4 president!
Gottschalk w´sould have known that Kinski hated that stupid question “is an actor that plys the bad guy also a bad guy in his real life”?
Kinski answered to that question so many times that it is stupid to even ask it. And still Gottschalk asked the question again.
Its a miracle that Kinski stayed calm this time.
Oh God..Gottschalk..such a douche…blöde Sau lol
Well, here we clearly see the importance of a good night’s sleep demonstrated!
It’s funny, but it’s also frustrating. A bit like Kinski, then…
Thanks God this Kinski interview is subtitled!!!!!
OMG, what an idiot Gottschalk was at that time (and still is;-)
I didn’t realize it then, when I was a child.
Kinski was really funny in that interview.
@TheNaomiengland yes, only the best die young!
Die Fragen sind aber auch echt nur dummes gelaber.
Kinski, der typische militante nichtraucher
K.K is sexy too bad hes dead he died to young
wieso geht dieser vollidiot kinski an interview termine wenn es ihm nicht gefällt ?
für mich ist das ein unsympatischer blöder sack, kein film würde ich von dem gucken.
wixer hier
bullshut.. this is Thomas Gottschalk.. and he is anything but nervous. im german bzw. so i can tell from a native point of view. And he is very intelligent btw. because he nows how to handle kinski. look at some other interviews.. kinski is one of the most complicated people to interview. and gottschalk did an excellent job. he reached his goal, the audience knwos kinski aswell, and he got his viewers on television.
der kinski verarscht den gottschalk so genial, toller typ, der thomas denkt mit seinem dämlichen gelaber kann er mit dem ein wenig plaudern, aber nicht mit dem klaus ….
The interviewer speaks too fast, he’s too nervous and it shows too much. These are two of the never do’s when you’re interviewing someone. He’s showing no experience interviewing PRECISELY one o the most difficult artists in history. hahahahahah it was really funny
showmaster ist ein scheinanglizismus nur mal so
Kinski: Viel Lärm um nichts.
A ver ground-breaking actor. Echt toll!
Well, everybody knows that Gottschalk isn´t a showmaster who makes the most intellectual or deepgoing TV showes, nobody forced Kinski to go there, think they did fine together, it was fun. I never understood why everyone thinks Kinski is so damn intellectual that you have to treat him like a raw egg to merit him.
I don’t understand the question…hahahah LOL. Kinski made me laugh like hell. Good guy!
Ja genau, eine komplette Dumpfbacke…
Kinski gave an interview where he came up with the same set of answer’s, remarkable is though, that it took place b4 what we’ve just witnessed. Gottschalk was no match for Kinski, all he could manage was making up a nickname and calling him a yogi. Kinski had every right to question the “we” context of pride. He couldn’t relate to that concept and therefore declared repeatedly, that he doesn’t understand the question.
die dämlichen Fragen von Gottschalk… Man ist der dumm
Messed Up
Is this the greatest non-interview ever made? Pure fun, and certainly a rare highlight on German TV. Please don’t feel bad about having a good laugh – because that’s exactly what Kinski wants. An exceptional actor without doubt, he was pretty much unbearable in his blatant egotism; here, however, he’s relaxed (thanks to a few beers beforehand?) to a degree that makes him positively likeable. Maybe, in private, he wasn’t such a nasty person after all…?
